More and more universities are turning toward institutional repositories as a way to showcase and preserve their intellectual output. They often call upon libraries to be the leader in the effort to establish and maintain these specialized databases, which creates new challenges for library staff. This session will discuss the University of Missouri—Columbia Libraries’ experience setting up and maintaining an institutional respository called MOspace. Topics covered include MOspace’s structure, library workflow, content harvesting, and metadata. Brief mention will also be made of integration with a unified search tool (Summon) and crosswalking metadata from MARC to Dublin Core.
