It’s easy to stay in the 50-minute BI rut, where the librarian is a one-time visitor to a class. But does this brief overview of the library truly provide a foundation for undergraduate students’ research and information literacy skills? This session will explore some creative collaborations between librarians and freshman writing instructors. With the librarian and instructor working as a team, students gain confidence in using the library’s resources, improve their research skills, and produce higher quality final projects. Participants will leave with ideas and best practices on collaborating with instructors, resulting in deeper, student-centered learning.
