Cataloging electronic books, serials, and databases: challenges and opportunities
As more libraries move from print to electronic for serials and books, cataloging these resources creates new questions for cataloging staffs: catalog titles in-house or accept free vendor records? Go with a single-record approach or give each format its own record? Add freely available resources to the catalog or only catalog paid resources?
This forum seeks to address some of the unique challenges that electronic resources present for cataloging staffs and offer potential solutions for these challenges.
